Data rooms for climate and cleantech startups.
Climate and cleantech startups are judged on whether the technology works at scale, whether customers have signed for its output and whether the project economics hold with incentives and financing. The room needs technical validation data, offtake and customer agreements, permits and interconnection records, incentive and grant files and project financial models.

How it works for a startup.
Climate companies range from software for emissions tracking to first-of-a-kind plants. Software companies get SaaS-style diligence plus scrutiny of emissions methods. Hardware and project companies face a much heavier load: pilot and demonstration data, independent engineer reports, offtake agreements, permits and the capital plan for the first commercial facility.
Public incentives often shape the economics: federal tax credits, Department of Energy grants and loan programs, and state programs. Rules have changed several times in recent years, so investors check which incentives apply, what qualification conditions are met and how the model behaves if an incentive is reduced or removed.
Carbon removal and credit businesses add registry records, methodology documentation, verification reports and buyer contracts. Reviewers test whether claimed tonnes are measured, verified and not double counted.

- Bulk folder upload
- Drag a whole folder tree in at once and keep its numbering.
- Investor Q&A
- Funds and buyers ask questions against a file; you assign, answer and publish replies, and the thread stays on record.
- View-only and download control
- Set each file to view only, print or download, and change it later without resending anything.
- Viewer activity log
- Shows which investor opened which file, for how long and when, and exports the record.
Set up the room in 6 steps.
- 1
Separate company and project
Keep corporate folders apart from per-project folders so project financiers see only their project.
- 2
Get independent validation
An independent engineer's report on pilot data carries more weight than internal summaries.
- 3
Test incentive assumptions
Document which incentives the model relies on, the qualification evidence and the downside if rules change.
- 4
File permits by project
Collect permits, environmental reviews and interconnection records with status and dates.
- 5
Upload large data sets in bulk
Pilot data, drawings and reports are large; bulk upload keeps folder structure intact.
- 6
Stage access
Share technology summaries early and detailed process data only to serious investors or partners.
Common mistakes.
- Letters of intent presented as binding offtake.
- Models that assume incentives without testing their qualification rules.
- Pilot data with no independent review.
- Carbon credits counted before verification.
