Data rooms for medtech and medical device startups.
Medical device diligence follows the regulatory pathway: 510(k), De Novo or PMA submissions and FDA correspondence, the quality management system and its ISO 13485 certificate, the design history file, verification and clinical data, and the reimbursement plan. Organise the room so a regulatory consultant can check each one against the product claims.

How it works for a startup.
Medtech investors and strategic buyers usually include regulatory and quality experts. They check the device classification, the pathway chosen and why, predicate devices for a 510(k), FDA feedback from Q-Submissions, and whether the quality system can support commercial production. Since February 2, 2026, FDA's Quality Management System Regulation incorporates ISO 13485 by reference, so the ISO certificate and audit history carry extra weight.
Clinical evidence and reimbursement often decide commercial value. Reviewers look at study protocols and results, CPT codes or the plan to obtain them, coverage decisions and early customer evidence from hospitals or clinics.
Strategic acquirers in medtech often run long, staged processes with several large device companies. Design files and test data are core IP, so they should be view-only, watermarked and released in stages.

- View-only and download control
- Set each file to view only, print or download, and change it later without resending anything.
- Dynamic watermarks
- Stamps the viewer email and the time across every page, so a forwarded screenshot points back to its source.
- Investor Q&A
- Funds and buyers ask questions against a file; you assign, answer and publish replies, and the thread stays on record.
- Viewer activity log
- Shows which investor opened which file, for how long and when, and exports the record.
- Bulk folder upload
- Drag a whole folder tree in at once and keep its numbering.
Set up the room in 6 steps.
- 1
Write the regulatory summary
Two pages on classification, pathway, predicates and status, with links to each FDA letter.
- 2
Index the design history file
Organise design inputs, outputs, risk files and test reports so a reviewer can trace each requirement.
- 3
Show quality system evidence
Include the ISO 13485 certificate, recent audit findings and how CAPAs were closed.
- 4
Lay out the reimbursement path
Explain coding, coverage and payment for the device, with what is in hand and what is still planned.
- 5
Release in stages
Open regulatory summaries first and full design files and test data later, view-only with watermarks.
- 6
Log regulatory questions
Answer regulatory and quality questions in Q&A, with your consultant reviewing answers.
Common mistakes.
- A predicate device that no longer fits the product's current indications.
- Open CAPAs with no closure plan.
- Reimbursement assumed rather than mapped to codes and coverage.
- Design files shared with downloads enabled to competing bidders.
